I am reopening
From 4 July I will be opening up again. North Devon is looking beautiful and it will be lovely to see people again. To be sure I can be Covid safe I have decided to only open three rooms. This means it maybe a little harder than usual to book. If I don’t appear to have the dates or room available you would like, please ring and I will see what I can sort out.
The wildlife here has thrived in the quietness. I have noticed a big increase in the number of pollinators in the garden. I think I have seen 5 or 6 different varieties of bumble bee. The little hoverflies are very curious and come and watch or land on me when I am gardening. If you are sitting in the garden, you may see the wren who has taken up residence in the woodshed. Bodge has come out of his winter stasis and is seen outside occasionally. His long period of inaction shows in his increased curves. In contrast, the bees have been incredibly busy and we should get a lot of honey at the end of July, early August. I am busy planning bee plants and am growing on quite a few lavender bushes to go out the front which should add a lovely flavour to next years honey. Over the next few months there will be a slow change in the garden landscape. Come and visit to see the changes.
I hope to see you soon.
